Well Worth It!
Participants reside in luxury condominiums in the beautiful Taos Ski Valley, a European-like village nestled in the mountains. The condos are fully equipped with all amenities including onsite laundry, a hot tub, housekeeping services, and wireless internet. Special celebratory dinners will also be provided, as well as Friday luncheon each week.
The location and intensity of TOI is designed for serious singers who realize the discipline of mind, body, and spirit necessary to reach and maintain a professional career.
Life at T.O.I.
Well Trained
Each singer's weekly schedule includes 4-5 lessons with a voice teacher and/or coach, dramatic coaching, focused language coaching and study, aria staging, master classes and special focus sessions, and various opera scene rehearsals. As a valuable feature, the faculty gives immediate personal assessments for all aria performances (2 weekly).
Well Rehearsed
Unique performance opportunities include special dinner soirees at private residences, gourmet restaurants, churches, outdoor venues and a Gala Finale Evening. Interested singers are also welcome to participate in local churches' Sunday services and various "open mic" opportunities around Taos and the Taos Ski Valley
Well Traveled
During the final days of the institute, participants make their way to a performance for the Santa Fe Opera final dress rehearsal. This is usually a highlight for participants, the cost of which is included in tuition.
